Doctor Who Franken Collection Swatches and Recipes - Part Four

New Who II

All swatches are over Gelous and topped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat.  The first two pictures in each set are taken in a lightbox, the last is under a lamp. Click to enlarge pictures. I'm a bit embarrassed to post these swatches; I did them in low light while I was trying to eat. It wasn't my best idea ever.

I used 0.5 fl. oz. bottles to mix these. I recommend adding the most abundant color or clear (if it's used) last to prevent overfilling.

For more information, see Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.

Always Take A Banana To A Party - pale yellow jelly full of glitter, 3 coats

1/2 bottle Maybelline Sheer Whisper (most peach/pink sheers should work)
1/4 bottle Orly Lemonade
40 drops Cover Girl Gold Rush (small gold glitter)
40 drops Wet 'n' Wild Party of Five Glitters (there are several dupes for this one)
40 drops NYC Starry Silver Glitter ( Sally Hansen Ice Queen is similar)
20 drops Milani Gold
20 drops Wet 'n' Wild Black Magic (the only polish I've ever bought on eBay)
20 drops Milani Disco Lights (similar to Wet 'n' Wild Sparked or Atlantis)
20 drops Revlon Star
20 drops Confetti Ice, Ice Baby

Medusa Cascade - pink leaning orange jelly with golden yellow shimmer and blue and teal glitter, 2 coats

Note- The glitter in this one sinks, but I love it too much to reformulate. Also, you probably don't need three different blue and teal glitters.
210 drops Maybelline Sweet Clementine (similar to Sally Hansen Sun Kissed)
45 drops Wet 'n' Wild Everybody Loves Redmond (bright, warm red)
30 drops Revlon Electric
15 drops Finger Paints Art you Wondering?
10 drops Finger Paints Laugh My Art Off
5 drops Milani Blue Flash
fill with clear

Bow Ties Are Cool- glittering wine, 2 coats

350 drops Revlon Vixen
75 drops Wet 'n' Wild Spectacle
50 drops China Glaze Ruby Pumps
50 drops China Glaze Cheers to You
50 drops Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Plum Luck
50 drops LA Colors Art Deco Silver Glitter
25 drops Wet 'n' Wild Metallica
25 drops Wet 'n' Wild Black Creme
25 drops (probably less) clear

Hello, Sweetie- deep red jelly with mini flakies, glitter, and shimmer, 2 coats

air bubbles and bald spots,  I was impatient

under lamp to show off the finish

1/2 bottle Revlon Glimmer Gloss Banana Blaze ( I think other Glimmer Glosses would work too)
80 drops China Glaze Naughty and Nice
60 drops Revlon Ruby
60 drops Sally Hansen Glossy (Confetti Masquerade Ball is very similar)
60 drops Milani Red to Tango
30 drops Wet 'n' Wild Red Red
30 drops Wet 'n' Wild Rockin' in Rubies (there are many polishes with a similar glitter/glass fleck, let me know if you need suggestions)

Floor 500- blackened blue with intense blue shimmer, 1 coat

300 drops (4 parts) China Glaze Frostbite*
150 drops (2 parts) Wet 'n' Wild Black Creme
75 drops (1 part) clear

*There are many polishes with similar shimmer that could be substituted here. Sally Hansen Blue It!, a blue LA Colors Color Craze (I don't know the name), and Wet 'n' Wild Saved by the Blue are probably the most easily accessible of the ones I had. They don't all have the same amount of shimmer, so mix a little bit and adjust the amounts.

Are You My Mummy?- glittery olive green, 2 coats

Note- I do not know of dupes for some of these, but am sure that there are polishes with similar finishes for many, if not all of them.

3 parts Wet 'n' Wild Extravaganza
3 parts China Glaze Mega Bite
5 parts Milani 3D
5 parts Nicole by OPI Sea How Far You Go
5 parts Wet 'n' Wild The Gold and The Beautiful
5 parts Orly It's Not Rocket Science
5 parts Wet 'n' Wild Ocean Grotto
8 parts Finger Paints Tough Art To Follow
8 parts Wet 'n' Wild Shield

That's all for now. There is only one more part in this series, the TARDIS blue colors. Please let me know if you have any questions about these recipes.
